ORISSA
The state was known as Kalinga in BC 268. Emperor
Asoka ‘the terrible’ turned ‘the
compassionate’ in Kalinga. Suffering of
war victims influenced him to change his mind.
During the 3, 4, 5, 6, centuries Kalinga was reeled
under wars. After that Different dynasties ruled
this place. Today Orissa is one of the best mining
areas in India. Also Orissa offers cotton silks,
seafood, handicrafts, silverware etc.
BHUBHANESWAR
This is the capital of Orissa, Popularly known
as Temple town. Some of the finest temples in
Orissa like Lingaraj, Rajarani, Muktheswar, Brahmaswam
and Parasurameswar are examples of contemporary
classic temple architecture. Also the visitors
can witness the various styles of Orissan architecture
developed over thousand years.
Lingaraja Temple. It belongs to 11th century of
time. This magnificent temple, 147 ft. height
from plinth, was built in 617-657 AD. The influence
of Jagannadh Cult is visible here. Presiding Deity
in Svayambhu Linga, and almost all Hindu Gods
are worshipped here.
Muktheswara Temple A tenth century temple.Konark
Sun Temple It’s a world heritage site dedicated
to Sun God. Built around AD 1238-64. The temple
consists of a huge chariot with 12 beautifully
carved wheels - of 10 ft. in diameter - in stone.
Mayadevi Temple Situates adjacent to Sun temple
with erotic sculpture, stone carvings of dancing
nymphs, musicians, floral motifs, hunting and
court scenes. Archeology Museum Established in
1968. Showcases sculptures retrieved from Sun
temple, fragments of architectural and artistic
patterns. Konark Beach One of the finest beaches
in world - 3 km away from Sun temple. It offers
the view of sunset, fishermen at work. An ideal
spot for sun bathing.
ASSAM
This state is known as gateway of North East.
The river Brahmaputra originates in Tibet - India’s
rare one horned Rhinoceros exists in Assam. Guwahati
the historically important place, is the capital
of Assam.

Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hill, Siva temple
on an island. Navagrah Temple, Basistha Temple,
Umanda Temple, Janardhana Temple, Shankar Deve
Kalashethra and state museum, Madan Kamdev and
archeological site with erotic sculpture and other
stone carvings. And Pabitora the wild life sanctuary
has to be visited to see Rhino and different species
of deer. Another attraction is 400 years old Buddhist
monastery.
MANIPUR
A paradise on earth, Manipur wins your heart with
charming natural beauty. Imphal, the capital of
Manipur is a mini metro situated 790 meters above
sea level. Must see places in Manipur are Shree
Govindaja Temple, Khwairanband bazar, Shaheed
Minar, War cemeteries, Knonghampat Orchidarium,

NAGALAND
It’s a place on hills that is on the boarder
of Myanmar and on south situates. Arunachal Pradesh.
The state is famous for war cemetery. Kohima,
the capital of this state is situated at an attitude
of 1444 meters above sea level.
TRIPURA
