Malaysia
Malaysia is one of the finest
examples of cultural diversity and unity . Indians,
Chinese, Malays and the original inhabitants Sabah
and Sarawak live together inn harmony. Generally
people are friendly and their traditional hospitality
is warm. Well behaving visitors can easily win
the heart of people there. Malaysian gives more
respect to senior people. When you visit an Malaysian
home don't forget to greet the elder member of
a family first. Pointing finger on somebody is
a sign of rudeness, don't do it. Remove shoes,
when you enter in to a home or worship place.
History
As most of the other Asian countries, Malaysia
has a colonial past. The nation gained freedom
from The British on August 31, 1957 as Federation
of Malaysia and with the subsequent entry of Sabah
and Sarawak Malaysia was formed in 1963. The multi
cultural and multi racial built of the country
is the result of long term interaction with the
people from other parts of world. The population
of Malaysia is comprised of the immigrants Mainly
from India, China, Indonesia etc
Dress code
Modest and informal clothing is accepted
everywhere. As Malaysia is predominantly a Muslim
country conservative dress will be highly appreciated.
Women should not wear shorts or skirt or shorts
or the apparels of the kind.
Language.
Bahasa Malaysia is the National language
of Malaysia. English, Chinese, Tamil, Hindi etc
can be used for communication.
Accommodation
The country's
cities and major towns have a wide range of accommodation
to suit all tastes and budgets. Most international-class
hotels cater to total living requirements and
as such, one can easily find restaurants, entertainment
outlets and fitness centers within the hotel complex.
Several resort hotels even have adjoining golf
