Day-01 OVS/COCHIN

Upon arrive at Cochin, guide will pick up and transfer to the hotel.

COCHIN - Cochin is known as the Queen of Arabian Sea. Cochin is a major port city on the South-West coast of India by the Arabian sea and the Laccadive Sea and is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala. Cochin is the home to Southern Naval Command of the Indian Navy and the state headquarters of the Indian Coastguard with an attached air squadron, named Air Squadron 747.

Visit Mattancherry palace, Hill palace, Marine drive.

MATTANCHERRY PALACE - The Mattancherry Palace is a portuges palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace, in Mattancherry, Cochin, in the Indian State of Kerala features Kerala murals depicting Hindu temple art, portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi. The palace is a quadrangular structure built in Nalukettu Style, the traditional Kerala style of architecture, with a courtyard in the middle. In the courtyard there stands a small temple dedicated to 'Pazhayannur Bhagavati', the protective goddess of the Kochi royal family. There are two more temples on either sides of the palace, one dedicated to Lord Krishna and the other to Lord Shiva.

HILL PALACE - Hill Palace is the largest archaeological museum in Kerala, at Tripunithura, Kochi, near Karingachira area. The palace complex consists of 49 buildings in the traditional architectural style, spreading across in 54 acres. The complex has an archaeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer park, a pre-historic park and a children's park.

MARINE DRIVE - Marine Drive is a picturesque promenade in Kochi, Kerala, India. It is built facing the backwaters, and is a popular hangout for the local populace. Ironic to its name, no vehicles are allowed on the walkway. Marine drive is also an economically thriving part of the city of Kochi. With several shopping malls it is as an important centre of shopping activity in Kochi. The view of setting and rising sun over the sea mouth, and the gentle breeze from the Vembanad Lake has made Marine Drive an important tourist destination in Kochi.

Day- 02 COCHIN/MUNNAR

Morning after breakfast, travel to Munnar by road. 

Visit Eravikulam National Park.

ERAVIKULAM NATIONAL PARK - The most sought after destination in Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park, the first of its kind in Kerala, where the endangered Nilgiri Tahr is protected. The park offere a magnificent view of the tea plantations and also of the rolling hills created by blankets of mist. The park becomes a hot destination when the hill slopes get covered in a carpet of blue, resulting from the flowering of Neelakurinji. It is a plant endemic to this part of the Western Ghats which blooms once in twelve years.

Day- 03 MUNNAR/PERIYAR

Morning after breakfast, visit Thekkady, Periyar National Park.

THEKKADY - The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spicescented plantations. In the Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks. Lying close to the plantations, in the rich jungles of Periyar in Thekkady is one of the World's most fascinating natural wildlife reserve - the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

PERIYAR NATIONAL PARK - Periyar National Park in Kerala is protected wildlife reserve. The area covering 350 sq km right in the middle of serene Periyar Lake was declared as a National Park in the year 1982. The National Park is situated right at the heart of Pandalam Hills and Cardamom Hills of Southern western Ghats. The aroma of wet mud during monsoon season gives a special appeal to the National Park during this season, even though a lot of wildlife is spotted at this time.

Day-04 PERIYAR/KUMARAKOM

 

Morning after breakfast at the hotel, travel to Kumarakom . On arrive at Kumarakom, check into the hotel.

VEMBANAD LAKE - Ranked among the longest lakes in India and the largest lakes in Kerala, Vembanad Lake is located in the Kumarakom region of Kottayam City. Kumarakom is a small island blessed with enchanting beauty and well-known for its backwaters. Touristd spend their leisure time in the lap of nature and refresh their soul. Apart from sightseeing, the lake also allows for outdoor activities like boating and fishing. Vembanad Lake is also recognized as Punnamada Lake in Kuttanad and Kochi Lake in Kochi.

Day- 05 KUMARAKOM

Morning after breakfast, visit  Kumarakom Backwaters. 

KUMARAKOM BACKWATERS - Kumarakom is a wonderland of Kerala which is known for its enchanting backwaters. This village retreat nestled in the small islets at the heart of Vembanad Lake has to be seen to be believed. This beautiful backwaters destination is enthralling to be at, with th3 blue backwaters on the surface of Vembanad Lake reflecting the Azure sky. The Vembanad Lake traversing Kumarako, town not only makes for the prime source of irrigation for the low-lying Kuttanad paddy fields but is also popular for its shores being home to one of the largest water-fowl population.

Day- 06 KUMARAKOM/HOUSEBOAT

Morning after breakfast, a travel im houseboat.

HOUSEBOATING - The house baots of Kerala are new addition to the travel and tourism of the states backwaters. Alleppey is one of the most important tourist centres in the state, with a large network of inlamd canals caring it the sobriquet "Venice of the East". Alleppey is also known for its spectacular snake-boat races held on the second saturday of August, every year. This competition - the Nehru boat race takes its name from India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who inaugurated in 1952.

Day-07 HOUSEBOAT/ MARARI BEACH

Morning, breakfast in Houseboat. After travel to Marari.

MARARI - Marari is a beach in Alappuzha district of Kerala, India, 11 km from Alappuzha. Upon arrive at Marari, check into the hotel.

Day-08 MARARI BEACH

Morning after breakfast, visit Mararikulam Shiva Temple, Thumpoly beach.

MARARIKULAM SHIVA TEMPLE - The Mararikula Shiva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in Alappuzha, Kerala. The temple is thousands of years old. Sri Mahadevan has been called, "Marari", the killer of cupid. This is the only temple where Sri Mahadevan and Sri Parvathi Devi are present face to face. The temple has a speciality - this was where the famous "Arattu" took place in the sea. The famous Mahadevar temple waw located in Mararikulam, in Cherthala in kerala. There are two deities ot Lord Shiva that are worshipped in this temple and they are known as Vadakkanappan and Thekkanappan.

THUMPOLY BEACH - Thumpoly Beach is the small beautiful beach in Alappuzha. Thumpoly beach is more attractive and foreigners like this beach very well. Thumpoly is wished with beautiful sandy beaches. It is a natural locality of many scaree birds. Thumpoly canals is very famous, which end their cousrses in the Arabian sea. There are fishing villages on the beaches.

Day-09 MARARI BEACH /KOVALAM

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to  Kovalam,  upon arrival check into the hotel. After some rest, visit Kovalam Beach, Veli tourist village.

Kovalam is a beach town bu the Arabian sea in Thiruvananthapuram city. The leisure options at the beach are plenty and diverse. Kovalam has three beaches seperated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach.

*LIGHTHOUSE BEACH

     The southernmost beach, the Lighthouse Beach is the one most frequented by tourists, Lighthouse Beach got its name due to the old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located on a 35 meter high on top of the Kurumkal hillock.

*HAWAH BEACH

     Eve's Beach, more commonly known as Hawah Beach, ranks second in the early days, 

is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea.

*SAMUDRA BEACH

     A large promontory seperates this part from the southern side. Samudra Beach doesn't have tourists thronging there or hectic business.

 

VELI TOURIST VILLAGE - Veli tourist village is a popular picnic destination in Thiruvananthapuram district. It consists of a large garden on the southern banks of Veli lagoon. A floating bridge connects this garden to the Veli beach. This picnic destination offers a wide range of attractions such as play areas for children, various boat rides in Veli Lake, games, horse rides, swimming pool, shopping stalls, cafeteries, a floating restaurant, a long walkway connecting to Aakulam Lake, stone and grass sculptures by Kanayi Kunhiraman which dots the garden landscape, a collection of pet birds such as pigeons and swans, small pond with fish and tortoises and more.
